Classic of Mountains and Seas is a compilation of myths about the geography of ancient China. It contains extensive records of medicines, animals, geographical features of different areas organized along two board sections - Classic of Mountains, and Classic of Seas. Weird as it appears to be, the Classic of Mountains and Seas is a sign of changing relationship between ancient human and nature in which the former started out to reach and explore the later. However, it is unfortunate that the remnants of the Classics today contain description only in words as the original drawings were lost for more than a thousand years. Absorbing the elements from the Classics, I intend to bring back the unknown world against the backdrop of environmental pollution and global warming today, with an aim to reflex on the relationship between human and the nature.

《山海經》為古代中國帶有神話色彩的地理誌，實為《山經》與《海經》的合輯。幾凡醫學、奇珍異獸、風土特色，其內容無所不包，甚至荒誕不經。作為中國古代奇書，《山海經》亦代表著遠古人類對大自然的一個探索，標誌著人類與大自然的關係開始改變。《山海經》原書附有圖畫，以為描述、佐證。惜過千年至今，其圖畫早已散佚不傳。由《山海經》汲取養分，我嘗試跟大家重回那個想像中的未知世界，在環境污染問題叢生，地球日益暖化的今天，重思人與大自然之間的關係。
